Directions to Main Pool at the Florida Atlantic University Athletic Field House (west side of campus between baseball stadium and basketball field house).

Week-day morning classes.

The week-day morning classes are held at the main aquatic center on the west side of campus. Enter the main entrance of FAU (the one with the big neon sign) located on Glades Road entering campus on Broward Ave (NW 10th street). Proceed about 1/2 mile straight into campus. You will pass soccer fields on the left hand side. When you get to the stop light inside campus, take a left. You will see the baseball stadium to the left, adjacent to the pool. Park in that lot. Walk to the one story, flat- roofed patio area (Field House). The first pool you come through after the patio is the Teaching Pool and the location of our classes. 

New for 2011: Parking meters or rear window decal at Main FAU pool lot #15

To avoid ticketing do not park in the red lined faculty spots or handicapped parking spaces or on the grass. From time to time the FAU parking people patrol the parking lots. Those families enrolling for the week-day morning classes at the main Aquatic Complex can park at the meters which are on both sides of the parking lot. There are 4 traditional coin operated meters on the north side of the lot.   

There are 32 new high tech meters on the south side of the lot adjacent to the baseball stadium. You pay at the main meter closest to the pool and simply input your parking space number. It is only $1.00 per hour. You can pay by coin, dollar bill or credit card.  It's cheap, quick and easy.

Also, GREAT news for spring/summer/fall parking. The FAU parking department is giving us a bulk price for spring/summer as weel as fall parking permits. The hang-tag for the fall will be valid from August 16th-September 30. If you choose this convenient option, the first day of class, please come with your driver's license number and license tag number and $15.00. After receiving everyone’s information Rob will turn it in to the FAU parking department and obtain coded parking decals for you. The cost of the tag is only $15. We are unable to cover the cost of parking tickets, if you have not complied with the above requests. Until, you receive your parking decal/tag you may park at one of the meters.

You can park in front of the pool in lot #15. If there is a big event on a particular day and the lot is full you can park either in front of or behind the FAU gymnasium just to the north of the pool.

Directions to Florida Atlantic University A.D. Henderson University School Pool (east side of campus 1 block north of 20th street and the Presidents Mansion)

Tuesday/Thursday Evenings and Week-ends

The evening and the week-end classes are held at the A.D. Henderson University School pool on the east side of the Florida Atlantic University campus. When entering from Glades Road while driving east from I-95, turn left into FAU at the last campus entrance on Florida Atlantic Blvd (NW 13th street), the one furthest east. You will drive about 2/3 mile until you see the stop light. About 100 yards straight past the stop light you will see the school on the right hand side of the road.  Park in lot #26. The pool is behind the school #26A. After you enter the Henderson school drive way, take your first left and park in the lot in front of the school, the one facing FAU Blvd, near the Henderson media center sign. Thank-you for taking notice not to park in the parking spaces reserved for school staff. Note the school has put up orange cones (to direct Henderson parents to the school pick up area during the week) and a no left turn sign as you pull into our lot. On the weekends unless something is going on or police are present, just ignore this and turn left in to the lot. The Henderson school is normally closed on the weekends.

After you have parked, walk down the drive way heading north (towards the soccer fields) with the school media center on your right. Walk until the driveway comes to a "T" and turn right. There will be a gate half way down this drive way. I leave it open enough for strollers but tight enough to keep cars out.  Keep walking  until you get to the second sidewalk to your right. Come through the small hallway and  you will see the backstroke flags of the pool behind the covered courtyard. Please do not enter the actual school building, as we are not permitted inside.

On rare occasions the lot is full, in this case additional parking spaces are available across the street. If those lots are full you can park behind the school. (It is about a 5 minute walk to come around to the driveway).  Sometimes we compete for parking spaces with the folks using the soccer fields, especially some evenings and Saturdays.
